Brake Pedal Cover
|
The first picture correspond to the 1999
M/C Motorcycle Floorboards with the Heel/Toe Shifter. They are brand new
for the Valkyrie and looks VERY nice and works very well. Of course
you will need to get accustom to the shifting process but it is very Comfortable
and easy to master. Even though I liked them, I switched to Rattlebars
Mfg. Kick Shift with the Highway Hawk Floorboards, mainly for the looks.
The second picture is the Kuryakyn brake pedal
cover. It is easy to install and look very pretty, having in consideration
that the OEM look terrible. It will cover it completely, adding an expensive
look to the brake pedal.

| Floorboards and Kick Shift |

These set of pictures are the amazing Rattlebars
Manufacturing Kick Shift and the new Hayway Hawn Floorboards. The floorboards
are very easy to install in the OEM peg location but will put your feet
like 1" above the normal OEM peg location. Solution? Rattlebars Peg Relocation
Kit. That kit will give you the flexibility to move the peg location lower
like 1" and also forward like 1" more. This gave me more room for my feet
and the new floorboards are very comfortable.
The Kick Shift is VERY comfortable, I found myself
shifting better and not missing a shift after it's installation, that is
very easy and comes with easy to read instructions. I think Chet did a
GREAT R&D job. I installed a Drag Specialty optional peg to the Kick
Shift mainly to match the floorboards and handle grips (they look awesome).
Even though you can install another peg in either of the three front holes
of the Kick Shift, I found the down shifting with the OEM shift was easier
and safer. Of course, up shifting with the back peg is a lot easier with
my boots now...HIGHLY Recommended.

Kuryakyn Dually Pegs
Passenger Mounting Plate
|
|
|
These next pictures are the Passenger
Floor Boards. I have seen the Cobra ones but they are too wide and takes
some of the beauty lines of the bike. First I installed the Jardine's floorboards
that are smaller still bigger than OEM pegs and more comfortable (first
picture). Later I installed the chrome passenger peg mounting plate, as
you may see in the next picture. Excellent addition to the beauty of that
area, but the black mounting of the Jardine's looks horrible. Then
I figured out that Kuryakyn mounting hardware is chrome, so purchased and
installed the Dually Iso pegs (8028) using the Magnum footrest mount clevis
(8072). When I mounted them, I was amazed how pretty they looks. Also my
wife reported they are more comfortable since you may adjust the angle
and they have thicker rubber. The Kuryakyn pegs also allowed me the flexibility
of tilting the pegs so the will go with the frame's angle.
The chrome mounting plates also comes with three
holes to adjust the height of the pegs. My wife liked the upper one so
I ended up with two holes that even don't look bad, I preferred to hide.
I used chrome bolt covers (you may find everywhere) and hide the middle
one, then I recalled that I saw in Chet's site a good idea. I purchased
and installed one amber bullet light on each side, hiding the bottom hole
and adding a VERY PRETTY look. At night, these lights glows and reflect
on all chrome parts of the bike (beautiful look). Thanks Chet, the idea
is awesome.

Ergo Dually Pegs

Dually Iso Pegs

|
These last pictures are the Highway pegs.
The first one shows the Kuryakyn Ergo Dually Pegs. They look very pretty
and are extremely comfortable. They may be adjusted to several positions
for people with shorter legs. In my case, I have long legs and liked the
forwarder position. They only issue with these Ergo pegs is that the mounting
hardware will break if the bike flips to the side. I experienced that and
the mounting bracket was broken as well as the mounting arm. Then I made
the decision of changing the position of the pegs. I purchased a pair of
1 1/4" Magnum quick clamps (1000) and attached them to the engine guard
using a piece of leather belt that I cut to fit. The reason of the leather
is that the clamps are wider and the leather gives the extra grip to hold
in place. Another advantage is that they moved forwarder than the Ergo's
and they will not break in the event of a flip to the side.
The picture below shoes all pegs and floorboards
together:
